What does the criminal legal system look like?

Germany’s criminal legal system is vast. Every year, approximately 600,000 people are sentenced for criminal cases, with fines, probation, or prison. These convictions are the result of a much wider net of surveillance, policing, and punishment which the the criminal legal system casts.
